1. Who we are
This privacy notice covers Solar Panel Installation Cornwall, an independent information site about solar panels in Cornwall, operating at solarpanelinstallationcornwall.co.uk. The site is run by Tally Digital Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal data described below. Tally Digital Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17314375) and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZC187625).
Contact: hello@solarpanelinstallationcornwall.co.uk.
2. What personal data we collect
- From the introduction form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postcode, the type of solar work you're interested in, your property type, and your consent to be introduced to a solar installer. The roof checklist form asks for the same contact details and consent.
- From email correspondence: whatever you choose to include in your messages.
- Automatically via Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies): a random ID kept in a cookie in your browser, the pages you visit, time on site, approximate location (town or city) and device type. That ID counts as personal data. When you send the form, Analytics is told which type of job you picked, never your name, contact details, postcode or anything you type.
3. How we use your data
- To introduce you to one local solar installer covering your postcode, if we have one and you agree, by ticking the consent box or by replying yes to our email. Before we share your details, we tell you who they are.
- To reply to you with confirmation, follow-up, or clarifying questions.
- To keep basic records of enquiries and introductions made.
- To understand how the site is used (Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies).
Solar installers we introduce you to may pay us a fee for the introduction. We only share your details with a solar installer if you ticked the consent box on the form or replied yes to our email, and we don't send marketing email.
4. Lawful basis
- Consent: when you tick the consent box and submit the form, or reply yes to our email, you agree to us sharing your details with one local solar installer covering your postcode. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to hello@solarpanelinstallationcornwall.co.uk.
- Legitimate interests: for keeping records of enquiries and introductions, and responding to you.
- Consent (cookies): for analytics cookies, only after you accept via the cookie banner.
5. Who we share your data with
- One solar installer, if you ask for an introduction and agree (the consent box or a yes to our email): we share your name, contact details, postcode and the work you're interested in with one solar installer covering your area, and we tell you who first. They become a separate data controller at that point.
- Brevo (email provider): sends our emails to you. Brevo keeps a log of each email it sends, with your email address and whether the email was delivered and opened and whether a link in it was clicked (links in our emails pass through a Brevo address first). Brevo privacy policy.
- n8n (form backend): self-hosted on our own server; receives form submissions and routes them. No third-party processor in this step.
- Cloudflare (CDN and Turnstile bot protection): processes IP addresses and browser signals to filter spam submissions. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies): Google processes the analytics data described in section 2 for us. Google privacy policy.
6. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, and its script does not load until you click Accept on the cookie banner. Before you choose, and if you decline, nothing is sent to Google Analytics and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and records how you use the site, such as the pages you visit and how far you get through the quote form, never what you type into it. Your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie. To change your mind, use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page: declining there deletes the Google Analytics cookies and stops it loading. There are no advertising cookies or affiliate links on this site.
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. It is required for the forms to work and does not track you across sites.
7. How long we keep your data
- Introduction requests: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted. Ask us and we'll delete yours sooner.
- Email correspondence: retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics keeps it for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, then deletes it.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): ask us to delete your data, subject to legitimate exceptions
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data
- Objection: object to specific uses of your data
- Portability: receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@solarpanelinstallationcornwall.co.uk. UK GDPR gives us one month to respond.
9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk

10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes are noted here with a revised "last updated" date. Updated 28 October 2026: Google Analytics now loads only after you accept cookies, the new Cookie settings link lets you change your choice, the fonts load from this site instead of from Google, and this notice gives our company and ICO registration numbers and says how Brevo tracks our emails and that the Google Analytics cookie ID counts as personal data. Updated 6 October 2026 to name Tally Digital Ltd as data controller, explain that solar installers may pay us for introductions, and describe the consent box now on every form. Updated 26 October 2026: the consent box is optional; you can also agree by replying yes to our email.
